It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since Tracey first joined Care On Call! From her early days in HR administration to her current role as People and Culture Manager, Tracey has grown alongside the business, taken on new challenges and helped support the people who make Care On Call what it is.

To celebrate this milestone, we caught up with Tracey to reflect on her journey, the changes she’s seen and, most importantly, the people who have made her time here so special.

A decade of growth and change

Tracey began her journey in HR administration with Medcall – before Medcall joined the Care On Call Group – initially supporting permanent recruitment. She later moved into coordination before returning to HR, progressing from HR Administrator to HR Team Leader and now People and Culture Manager.

Over the past decade, she’s seen plenty of change. When she first started, office teams were much smaller, with people often wearing several hats. As the business has grown, so have the teams and specialist roles that help keep everything running.

As Tracey puts it, “We have grown so much, like doubled, tripled our size of office staff.”

Even everyday processes look different now. Tracey remembers printing and posting employment contracts for staff to sign and return by mail; a far cry from today's digital systems!

Having been part of that journey from the beginning, Tracey has seen first-hand how much the business has evolved, and how its people have grown with it.

It's the people who make the difference

So, what has kept Tracey at Care On Call for 10 years? For her, it comes down to the people.

“I have had really fantastic managers and teams that I work with, that really does make the difficult days worth it,” she says.

Tracey enjoys getting to know the different personalities across the business and seeing how people with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives come together.

“I've really enjoyed learning everyone's different personalities and seeing how it all jives together,” she explains.

For Tracey, a great team isn't about everyone being the same. It's about understanding one another, appreciating what each person brings and finding ways to work together. As she puts it, “There can be so many walks of life and personalities, and everyone makes it work to work seamlessly together.”

That appreciation for people extends beyond the workplace, too. When Tracey joined Care On Call, her children were just six and three. Over the years, she's been able to adjust her working hours as her family commitments have changed, while continuing to develop her career.

During this time, she also completed a Certificate in Personnel Management and Human Resources, balancing further study alongside work and family life.

Having that flexibility and understanding has been an important part of Tracey's journey, reflecting the value of a workplace that recognises people have lives and commitments outside of work, too.

Looking back, and ahead

Much of Tracey's work happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt across the business. As People and Culture Manager, she helps support the teams, navigate challenges and create an environment where people can do their best work.

After 10 years, her journey is a wonderful reminder that a workplace is about more than roles, systems or how much a business grows. It's about the relationships we build, the support we give one another and the people who make coming to work worthwhile.

We're incredibly grateful to have Tracey as part of the Care On Call team, and for the experience, care and commitment she brings to her role.

Congratulations on 10 years, Tracey, and thank you for everything you do. Here's to the next chapter!
